1 Cor 2:9-10 “What no eye has seen, what no ear has heard, and what no human mind has conceived”— the things God has prepared for those who love him— these are the things God has revealed to us by his Spirit.
This passage of Scripture is pregnant with hope and possibilities. It also speaks of His goodness in revealing what we cannot yet understand, to us.
We can’t see into the future, that is, not without revelation from the Holy Spirit. It is in these moments or seasons when we do not yet experience answers to our prayers, or feel a sense of uncertainty about our future, that we need to know that things are being orchestrated for our good. This knowledge comes as a result of an ongoing relationship that we build with Him.
My grandmother was a hard nut to crack when it came to salvation. It took three decades of reaching out and praying before we saw her responding to God’s love. I recall this one time, both my cousin and I were packing up to leave my grandmother’s place after dinner. My cousin looked at me and declared “I think she’s going to be saved very soon!” It was a “yes and amen” moment as I responded “Yes I can sense that too!” A few months later, my grandmother responded to an altar call and gave her life to Jesus!
If we can sum this up into a simple application, it would be: love Him, be patient, enjoy breakthroughs!
