Philippians 2:14-15 Do all things without grumbling or disputing, that you may be blameless and innocent, children of God without blemish in the midst of a crooked and twisted generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world. A counter-culture: one that runs contrary to the existing predominant one. And in just two words “grumbling and disputing”, the apostle Paul sums up the current culture and admonishes us not to participate in it in any form.
When we choose not to grumble and dispute, it turns out that we become blameless and innocent, and remain without blemish. This in turn makes us stand out in a fallen world which we have been called to shine as lights. His divine call to shine in this world goes beyond us merely sharing the gospel, healing the sick, casting out demons, raising the dead.
Our lives are seen as a package by this world. It requires everyone of us as His children to live out our Christlikeness everyday and everywhere.
Dear friends, this is part and parcel of what it means to be building lives and seeking God, and as we learn how to process each component in our lives, we become empowered to better shine for Him. Let’s grow in our calling to affect a godly change in our culture!
