“He will render to each one according to his works: to those who by patience in well-doing seek for glory and honor and immortality, He will give eternal life. (Romans 2:6-7, ESV)”
Apple. Perhaps one of the global brand names that nearly every one knows about. And not just that. We probably know about Steve Jobs and to some extent, his early business partner Steve Wozniak. But there is another name which may not mean anything to you.
His name is Ronald Wayne.
Did you know that Wayne was the third founder of Apple? The reason why you probably have not heard of him unless you delve deeper in Apple’s history is because in 1976, he sold his entire 10% stake in the company for $800. Today, Apple is worth $1 trillion.
Ouch.
Short-termism. Lacking foresight. Failure to play the long game. Call it whatever you want but at some point in our lives, we would have failed in persevering with a good decision because of certain biases, perceptions or influences.
We are well aware of the decisions we are to make and actions to take because His Holy Spirit is in those who are truly born again.
And if so, then persevering in the good decisions is key to reaping eternal rewards.
Don’t settle for mere stew and give up your birthright just because your natural self desires to be satisfied with it like Esau. Seek Him to know what you have to do and do it with all your might. If He has commissioned you to accomplish something, don’t give up, don’t back down. Recharge, refresh and ready yourself each day to take the next step forward in that journey. Play the long game.
